Quarantine Day 78

9th June 2020

With my return to work and the country gradually phasing in reopening measures, I’m not sure if I can continue to call this journal series quarantine entries. Or, for that matter, whether there’s many entries left to write.

Yet, even with quarantine measures lifting and warm weather bringing with it a sense of normalcy, we know it’s not over. My commute to and from work, and my weekends spent hiking, provide evidence of a paranoia still rooted in people. We’re wary and rightfully so. A second wave will hit us, we just don’t know when or how hard. So for now we head to work, gloves on and masks shielding our faces. The few too scared to leave just yet, hide away at home. We prepare for it to claw back at us. We wait.

This might be the last entry for a long while. Maybe a part two will come about when the second wave hits, maybe just a continuation from where I leave off. But this will be it for now.

The world is slowly burning.

Our world it telling us so.

The people crowd in streets.

Our generation demands to be heard.
