Back to School Must-Haves

It’s that time of the year again!

Not too long ago, we were posting about snagging as much reading time by the pool as we could in August’s book list. Now, with two weeks until classes start, we find ourselves scrambling to pay tuitions, gather school supplies, and purchase expensive back-breaking books.

Luckily, we know a place that checks off a number of our school supplies needs, and with such great style.

Here’s a break down of this seasons must-haves:

Stylish Pen:                                                        Sleek Pencil Case:

Earth, Water                                                             Earth, Grey

Magnetic Bookmark:                                      Sophisticated Notebook:

Earth, Grey                                                       Light Your Soul, Brown

Earth, Blue                                                             Cute Backpack:

Marble, Brush                                             Colourblock Mini Backpack, Grey

With lots of reading coming our way, these magnetic bookmarks are a saviour!

Specialising in English Literature means I’m required to read a lot, and I mean A LOT. Everything from anthologies, poems, essays, factual research, you name it, I have to read it. A frequent problem I run in to is not having enough bookmarks, or not being able to find them (#bookwormproblems anyone?). These magnetic bookmarks solve both those problems: 1) they come in packs of three, and 2) they’re quite literally cramming a number of pages together, without leaving impressions like a paperclip would. And if you don’t need them in your book, or separating your stapled research papers, you can leave them on your notice board or fridge for a daily dose of inspiration.

But, the magnets aren’t the only items you can look to for inspiration. This leather-bound notebook is perfect for journaling, or on the go notes and to do lists. It’s a slender notebook meant to fit in any bag or purse, such as the Colourblock Mini Backpack, and perfect for making you feel like a sophisticated student with an important story to tell.

Speaking of mini backpacks…

After years of carrying heavy loads on my shoulders in the form of school bags (messenger and backpack), I’ve developed a bad back. And the further I dive into my studies, the heavier my bag seems to get. I’ve found it impossible to carry all my volumes, notebooks for one day worth of lectures (typically two to three), laptop and lunch for the day. Not to mention all the other essentials a grown woman from the suburbs needs to carry for her hour and a half long journey to downtown. It’s a long trip to make with a heavy load on your back and seats not always available.

This term I’m trying something new. Not wanting to rush around the metro platforms and stairs with a luggage carrying my books, as my father had suggested, I’ve opted for the briefcase and mini backpack combo. After a year of watching professors strut their game across campus with two totes weighed down by books and papers, and a coffee in hand, not once did I hear a whisper of complaint concerning their backs.

They were doing something right, and I was in on their little secret.

With a briefcase in one hand stuffed with a laptop, books, and project folders, holding a tote for lunch in the other hand didn’t seem ideal for me. The professors had something going, but I still like my mobility. This mini backpack solves my current dilemma, and is definitely worth your penny. It’s a large enough backpack for a lunch, water bottle, a slender notebook, and your keys and wallet, but, remains light enough to not strain your back. It’s barely noticeable, and super cute.

With these back to school must-haves, you’ll be on your way to conquering another school year like a boss. And don’t worry, if the colours I’ve personally chosen for myself aren’t your thing, they have something for you in one of their collections.

Happy studying!
